What is nonbinary drag?

Nonbinary drag is a form of drag performance that rejects traditional gender binaries and embraces gender identity as a spectrum. Nonbinary drag performers may identify as genderqueer, genderfluid, or nonbinary, and may use they/them pronouns instead of traditional he/she pronouns.

Nonbinary drag allows performers to explore gender expression beyond the boundaries of traditional drag, often incorporating elements of genderfuck, surrealism, and queer fashion. Nonbinary drag performers may use makeup, costumes, and drag personas to challenge gender stereotypes, create new archetypes, and blur the lines between masculinity and femininity.

Nonbinary drag is becoming increasingly popular in the drag community, with more and more performers embracing nonbinary identities and pushing the boundaries of what drag can be. Nonbinary drag shows and events are also becoming more common, providing nonbinary performers with a platform to showcase their unique perspectives and creative talents.
